Build the world's first Debate Markets with us!

Debate Markets by Contro

Contro is a VC-backed technology startup, driven by the belief that markets will empower people. This is why we are creating a transformative debate prediction market product, powered by our revolutionary ultra-fair P2P market technology on the blockchain.

We are looking for a Technical Product Designer / Design Engineer to help us build our initial product: Debate Markets by Contro.

The ideal candidate will have an impressive background in designing world-class consumer products, with a focus on creating deeply engaging, user-centric experiences. You will work directly with the company leadership and engineers to spearhead the design process from ideation to execution, ensuring that our product is not only functional but also delightful.

What You'll Do

  • Be hands-on, everywhere. As the first designer in our small and upstarting team, you’ll take responsibility and execute hands-on on multiple fronts, combining your top-notch experience and various talents.
  • Understand and shape. You’ll think deeply about product and create UX based on your acquired fundamental understanding of both, Contro’s market technology and user needs.
  • Prototype and test. You’ll create wireframes, mockups, and component requirements (documented ideally as tests); cleanly implement components and delegate by writing great tickets; constantly conduct usability testing and reiterate based on the user feedback you receive.
  • Conduct user research. You’ll be open to perform detailed user research to inform design decisions, ensuring that our solutions are grounded in real user needs.

What You Bring

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Highly analytic and ability to understand complex financial/blockchain products
  • 4+ years of experience in product design, ideally consumer (web and mobile)
  • 2+ years of experience with HTML/CSS, e.g. Tailwind, and responsive design
  • Experience with Typescript or another programming language
  • Familiarity with component libraries
  • Eagerness to validate UX and mitigate risks
  • Ambition to make it to the top with a small, fun and talented team
  • (Plus) Free to travel occasionally, especially within Europe, or willingness to relocate

What's In for You

  • $80,000 - $140,000 base salary depending on experience and location
  • Significant additional compensation and upside as an early core team member in tokens / equity
  • Chance to shape a consumer product which will be beneficial for a large user base
  • Chance to work with cutting-edge technology
  • Smart team, no BS, few calls, high flexibility
  • Team-retreats - occasionally deep-work (and party) with your colleagues in person (mostly in Europe)
